The Bartram Trail Society


On November 1, 1977, the North Carolina Bartram Trail Society was organized by eleven North Carolina residents, and it now has around 200 members throughout the southeast.

The Society was formed, and reached an agreement with the U.S. Forest Service, to begin marking the general trail corridor of the Bartram Trail. Blazing and building the trail was an awesome undertaking, which is now completed. This is a breathtaking 117 mile stretch through some of the most beautiful terrain in the whole United States.
